Pahiyas is a colorful festival highlighted by the procession of San Isidro Labrador. The people of this picturesque town of Lucban, Quezon decorates their houses with fruits, vegetables, kiping, hats and suman as a thanksgiving to the patron saint for countless blessings and bountiful harvest. Being a world reknown festival it was deemed to be an appropriate design for the souvenir cover of the 1st LUCBANPEX.
For those who are interested in errors, this cover is for you since its postmark does not show the correct date of the 1st LUCBANPEX, the exhibition ended on the 16th day of May and not on the 17th day as indicated in the postmark. Moreover, there is no such thing as a LUCBAN PHILATELIC CLUB . . . it is a bogus entity.

For obvious reason, the portrait of Pope John Paul II was used in this particular souvenir cover of the Philatelic and Photo Exhibit entitled Love and Prayers for the Pope.
Pope John Paul, born Karol Józef Wojtyla (May 18, 1920 – April 2, 2005) reigned as Pope of the Catholic Church from October 16, 1978 until his death more than 26 years later, making his the second-longest pontificate in modern times after Pius IX's 31-year reign. He was the first (and only) Polish Pope and the first non-Italian Pope since the Dutch Adrian VI in the 1520s. His early reign was marked by his opposition to Communism, and he is often credited as one of the forces which contributed to its fall. In the later part of his pontificate, he was notable for speaking against consumerism, unrestrained capitalism, abortion, cultural relativism and what he deemed the "culture of death". Pope John Paul II was extremely popular worldwide, attracting the largest crowds in history.

Likewise, the exhibition in Holy Infant Academy was held November 10 - 12, 2005 and not on November 9 -12, 2005 as indicated in the postmark.
